Star Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to explore new offers after an astounding stint with Saudi Pro League (SPL) club Al-Nassr, international media reported on Monday.
Ronaldo’s contract with the club is set to expire next summer, which means the 40-year-old is open to sign a new deal on the first of January.
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Award, the five-time Ballon d'Or commented on his future at the club.
"Well in football, you never know what's going to happen," Ronaldo said.
Furthermore, a Spanish media outlet reported that the Portuguese forward has no intentions of retiring without winning a title at Al-Nassr, but if the right offer comes along then he might accept.
This statement underscores that the 40-year-old is not planning retirement any time soon as he has a tally of 1000 career goals in his sights.
The star footballer scored his 900th career goal during Portugal’s 2-1 Nations League win against Croatia.
In commemoration of his 900-goal milestone, Al-Nassr awarded Cristiano Ronaldo a jersey labelled “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time).
The special jersey features the word "GOAT" and the number "900" written on the back.
Ronaldo received the gift before he kicked off Al Nassr's match against Al Ahli. There was also a tifo carrying messages like "900 goals" and "Only heroes achieve glory.”
The iconic forward, who received the title of UEFA’s Player of the Year, expressed excitement after smashing this historic kick in the post-match presentation.
"It means a lot," Ronaldo said. "It was a milestone I wanted to reach for a long time. I knew I would reach this number, because as I continue to play, it would happen naturally."
In the celebration, Ronaldo raised his hands to his face and dropped to his knees.
